Adult Apps Like TikTok: Which Ones? (Everything to Know)

What Is TikTok?

You’re familiar with TikTok, right?

It’s all the rage with kids these days and is one of the most popular social media platforms in the world.

The thing that really drives TikTok is the presentation.

It’s all about very short videos (often under 1 minute) that you can scroll through in succession.

You have an endless content stream, so it’s easy to kill time with the app.

But, TikTok is a bit more than that.

Naturally, you can connect with friends and share content with people you know, but what really drives TikTok is the algorithm.

Spend time with the app, and it will figure out what kinds of videos you like, and it will steer those videos to you forever.

Because of that, TikTok is immensely popular, with hundreds of millions of users around the world, and it is often regarded as the premier platform for sharing videos with lots of users.

Is TikTok for Kids?

With all of that said, TikTok is a lot more popular with young people than with adults.

In fact, 63% of TikTok users are under the age of 30.

As a result, when you browse TikTok, you’re going to stumble through a lot of videos of kids doing weird viral dance routines until the algorithm figures out what you really want.

It wouldn’t be fair to say that TikTok is built specifically for kids.

That’s definitely not the case, and there are millions upon millions of adult users.

But, TikTok is more popular with younger users, and that does tend to impact the average maturity level of content you’ll find.

On top of that, TikTok blocks a lot of mature content.

Naturally, this includes pornographic videos and videos that might contain explicit violence, but I’m talking about more than that.

TikTok is a lot more heavy-handed in stopping political content and other adult conversations as compared to the other major social media apps.

So, if you want the TikTok experience but maybe geared for adults, then you’ll probably want to find a different platform.

What Are Adult Apps Like TikTok? (4 Alternatives)

Let’s pump the brakes for a minute.

There are two ways to read this question.

It might mean that we want TikTok apps that focus on content less about kids doing the latest viral dance craze and more about grownup topics and such.

It could also mean that you’re looking for a TikTok alternative that features explicit adult material, also known as Not Safe for Work (NSFW) content.

Such content might include nudity and other adult stuff.

I’m going to answer both questions.

In the sections immediately below this, you’ll see apps geared toward the former idea.

These are apps that are similar to TikTok but with a more grown-up atmosphere.

Later, I’ll discuss the NSFW sites.

By breaking things into these two lists, you can focus on the apps that you actually want to use, whatever it is that you want when it comes to adult apps like TikTok.

#1 YouTube

YouTube? Really?

Bear with me for a moment.

First of all, it would be more fair to call TikTok an app like YouTube than the other way around.

YouTube has been around a lot longer and has a lot more users.

That aside, YouTube has grown up with its user base.

The site launched in 2005.

Young users from back then are full-fledged adults, and a lot of YouTube content has matured in the near two decades since then.

The truth is that YouTube is so big that you can find just about any kind of content that you want.

The platform doesn’t support NSFW stuff, but other than that, it’s pretty much all on YouTube.

But, what about the TikTok format?

You like scrolling short videos.

You just want access to an app that keeps the format and provides more interesting content.

That’s why I recommended YouTube.

With YouTube shorts (something the company is pushing very hard right now), you get the TikTok experience with the wealth of YouTube content.

I have other recommendations below this one, but if I’m giving it to you straight, YouTube shorts is probably the best option of them all.

There’s enough available that you can find what you want (unless you’re looking for NSFW content, in which case you should skip ahead).

#2 Likee

You’ve definitely heard of YouTube before, but it’s less likely that you’re already familiar with Likee.

This is a relatively new app, and it’s designed to be a perfect answer to your question.

It sticks with the TikTok presentation model.

If you know how to use TikTok, you should feel comfortable with Likee.

But, Likee takes things a lot more seriously.

The platform tries to cater to more grown-up discussions and content.

In fact, the whole thing is built around pairing people with similar interests.

It’s almost the book club version of TikTok.

Instead of silly young people’s viral trends, you’ll get content centered around substance.

You can get into politics, religion, health, fitness, hobbies, and anything else under the sun, and the app’s algorithm will try to match you with other adults who share your interests.

That’s the real point of Likee, and it’s pretty good at all of this.

#3 Instagram

Here we go again.

Everyone already knows about Instagram.

How is it an alternative to TikTok?

And is it really an adult option?

Let’s address those questions individually.

First, Instagram actually is an alternative to TikTok.

Even though the platform was originally developed for sharing pictures—and it’s still really good at that—it has evolved over the years.

Users made it clear that they wanted to easily share videos too, and Instagram has long since integrated video sharing into the platform.

You can very easily share or browse videos on Instagram, and the scrolling experience is similar to what you would find on TikTok.

In terms of use, Instagram is definitely a viable alternative to TikTok.

Keep in mind that Instagram is owned by Facebook, and Facebook also caters to easily sharing short videos.

Because of this, you can combine the two, and with that, you have access to the largest user base of any social media platform.

That gives you more content, more people, and more of everything.

As for the question of adult content, that’s a little less straightforward.

There are plenty of kids who use Instagram, and clearly, we’re trying to find resources that steer away from young content.

That said, Instagram has a much older audience than Tiktok.

Only 8.5% of Instagram users are under the age of 18, and more than half of all users are over the age of 25.

As a result, your Instagram content will be a lot more adult as compared to TikTok.

In fact, we should really drive this point home.

For TikTok, 32.5% of users are under the age of 19 (they measure their demographics slightly differently).

Over 60% of TikTok users are under the age of 30.

In a direct comparison, Instagram is an app for older users than TikTok.

#4 Clapper

Last on this part of the list is Clapper.

It’s last because it really straddles the line between our two takes on adult alternatives to TikTok.

You can use Clapper and never see NSFW content a single time.

You can also find NSFW content on the app.

It serves both purposes.

Clapper is only available as a mobile app, and it is available for both Apple and Android devices.

Clapper really sits in an interesting space.

It’s trying to combine a few different social media experiences into one.

On the user side, it scrolls similarly to TikTok, showing you a lot of content very easily.

At the same time, it tries to monetize that content for the creators, mirroring OnlyFans in how it works.

You can browse content, but content creators lock a lot of stuff behind membership fees, which you can pay for access.

Even while it’s doing these things, it’s trying to foster conversations more than just NSFW content, and it even has a video Clap Back feature that basically makes it easy to argue with strangers on the internet.

In this respect, it’s filling a bit of a Twitter space too.

Clapper will definitely prove to be a different experience, but it might be the alternative to TikTok that you were hoping to find.

What Are NSFW Adult Apps Like TikTok? (3 Options)

Attractive young bearded man sitting on a couch while using his smartphone

That covers the first list of adult alternatives to TikTok.

If you’re more interested in NSFW content, then there are a few options for that too.

Actually, there are tons of options, but as you might imagine, they’re not all trustworthy.

You have to worry about scams, malicious software, and all of the unpleasant internet stuff that often comes with NSFW content.

Fortunately, there are three apps that are thoroughly vetted.

They’re safe in terms of malware and fraud, so you don’t have to worry about using them in that sense.

They can connect you with other people on the internet, though, and that always comes with a bit of risk.

No app can protect you from falling for scams when you meet strangers on the internet.

That’s on you.

So, with all of that in mind, we can go over the three leading apps that are like TikTok but for adults—in an NSFW kind of way.

#1 FriendsOnly

Man using his smartphone at night

First up is FriendsOnly.

It probably has the most exposure (pun intended) of any of the apps on this list.

The name, which might remind you of OnlyFans, is definitely popular on Google searches.

It came up more than any other alternative, making it one of the most popular options.

From the user perspective, FriendsOnly is kind of a hybrid between OnlyFans and TikTok.

You can scroll through content much like you would with TikTok.

Yet, it makes it easy for content creators to hide content behind a paywall, much like OnlyFans.

That means that FriendsOnly content creators are in fact making money via the platform.

One thing to emphasize is that FriendsOnly is primarily providing NSFW content.

It’s all about sexualized content.

If you want the TikTok experience but with this twist, it’s definitely a top contender.

#2 WapTap

The thing is, FriendsOnly is not running away with the competition.

WapTap is also a good option for this category.

For starters, it provides a more TikTok-like experience than anything else I’ve listed so far.

Browsing WapTap is almost exactly like browsing TikTok.

You can scroll through, see lots of short videos, and that’s really the gist of how the whole thing works.

At the same time, this is another platform that caters almost exclusively to adult content.

Much of it is NSFW, and you will have to confirm that you are over 18 in order to use the platform at all.

Additionally, WapTap does provide means for content creators to earn money.

You can follow specific creators and even tip them in the app.

But, there is a ton of free content too, making this feel much more like TikTok than FriendsOnly does, where you often have to follow and subscribe to users just to see content.

#3 SikSok

Young but tired man with a beard who cannot sleep and is watching a video on his smartphone

Last up is SikSok (this link is NSFW).

It’s a lot like WapTap in that it scrolls like TikTok and caters pretty much exclusively to mature content.

There are a few things to note.

First of all, SikSok doesn’t work as well as WapTap.

It takes longer to load videos and scroll the platform.

The interface is clunky.

It’s just not built as well.

The second thing is going to require us to talk about a sensitive topic.

We’re already deep into the subject of adult, NSFW content.

How do you compare different apps that cater to this same purpose?

Well, the term “hardcore” comes to mind.

In a direct comparison, SikSok caters more to the hard-core audience than WapTap does.

Yeah, this is awkward.

But, that’s one of the biggest differences.

On WapTap, you’ll see mature content that is not safe for work.

On SikSok, you’ll see content that is much more accurately described as acts of sex.
