Robots actually can tick the “I’m not a robot” box on a CAPTCHA. The way the test identifies the bots is by analyzing how the box is checked. Humans and computers control a mouse very differently, and that’s the tell. CAPTCHAs can actually test behavior in a lot of ways, and they can even combine tests to spot robots.
For the most part, Omegle uses CAPTCHAs to try to limit bot access to the site. Omegle has taken the stance that bot interactions are not in the best interest of the user experience, and the company tries to prevent such interactions. Bots also represent security and liability risks that the company is trying to avoid.
Unfortunately, there’s no way you can permanently turn off CAPTCHAs. But you can temporarily disable it by using AdBlock, a Chrome extension designed to turn off CAPTCHAs, bookmarking google.com, using a different search engine, and using a dynamic IP address.
CAPTCHAs work by requiring you to interpret some type of information that is hard for computers to understand. As humans, we are able to recognize new patterns easily and apply our prior insight to new situations. For bots it’s extremely difficult to recognize these since it works on patterns set in its programming.
A CAPTCHA usually shows up when you try to access a site multiple times in a short time span from the same IP address. CAPTCHAs cannot be removed permanently. But they can be temporarily removed by restarting the router, clearing cookies and cache, a virus scan, using VPN, using a proxy, and using another device.
